EXHIBITION

Shuttered in her home during COVID Susan Murphy created 64 Paintings memorializing the COVID Pandemic.

100% of proceeds were donated to support the victims of the recent mass shooting in Boulder.

Show opened July 2nd at 3pm and ran through July 31, 2021 at the NoBo Community Center in North Boulder

As 1959 was a turning point for the people of Tibet, 2020 has been a tipping point for the entire planet. In that mindset, I maximized my quarantine  time chronicling many of the monumental events with brush to paint rather than the pen.

I began the project in March 2020 to honor the victims and essential workers, but it evolved, as the chaos unfolded. From the despair of the hospital workers and victim’s families - to the murder of George Floyd, the subsequent BLM PROTESTS, to the fires that raged across Colorado and the west - the ever-changing dilemma of re-opening schools, to the election, the insurrection and the hope revealed in Amanda Gorman’s epic poem at the inauguration, I transferred it all to canvas.

This provocative body of work will be on display in Boulder Colorado at the NoBo Art Center 4929 Broadway the month of July 2021. The show opens July 2nd at the NoBo Community Center in north Boulder and runs through July 31, 2021. The exhibit has been designed as an online auction with 100% of the proceeds to be donated to support the victims of the recent mass shooting in Boulder.
